The Kyosai hyakuzu ('Hundred Pictures by Kyosai') is mainly pictorializations of proverbs, but there are some images which
simply depict famous subject unrelated to proverbs. The prints were published continuously from 1862 to 1866. This work was
translated into French in 1885 under the title Cent Proverbes Japonais by Francis Steenackers and Ueda Tokunosuke.
