The hexaptych shows TADATSUNE standing ready to confront the charge of the giant wild boar at the foot of Mt. Fuji (two left-most panels),
while YORITOMO and his entourage (depicted in right panel) look on. The six panels represent a wild and chaotic interaction of humans and
animals running from the outmost right to the outmost left panel. A group of hunters in armour on horses (at right) are rushing to the left to help
Tadatsune fight the wild boar. All sorts of animals are escaping the approaching hunters creating a total chaos among other hunters who have
fallen from their horses and now watch the scene in bizarre and funny postures. Two others who apparently had crashed with the attacking boar
and were catapulted into the air are now falling down in circling movements. NOTE: Due to the sheer size of the hexaptych and its richness in pictorial details we are offering two differently sized illustrations this time.
