This rare landscape work by the artist, mainly known for his
kacho-e (bird and flower prints),
depicts a very atmospheric scenery of several fishing boats, one with a large net, behind
which the sun is setting over the bay. Reference: Newland, Perrée, Schaap, "Crowns, Cranes and Camelias - The natural world of Ohara Koson 1877-1945"; Hotei Publishing; Leiden, 2001; no. K44.23. |
