UTAGAWA school		Five actors as samurai in a kabuki play
		Preparatory brush drawing (shita-e), most likely for a pentaptych, in sumi (black ink) with elements in red color,  and several pentimenti; on thin paper. Date:                  second half of the 19th century Size of sheet:     oban tate-e (33 x 70 cms / c. 13" x 27.5") Condition:  Fine. - As here, it was common practice for shita-e to be executed on sheets made from smaller pieces of paper which were glued together. - ref. no.: # 712791 - Sold -
