The artist's comment on this work: "This woodblock print is from a sketch made while walking along the shore in Upper Michigan. The print is from my 'Road Trip' series, remembering the scenes from Connecticut to Montana and back." The artist torched and scratched plywood with a wire brush to make the strong woodgrain on the sky and the water surface.
