Print from a series entitled: "Mokuhanga shu", no. 1: "Pari no aki" (Woodblock Prints Album, no. 1, 'Paris in autumn'); no. 9: "Drizzling Rain", a couple is enjoying a dinner in a small restaurant while the rain is falling in the street. Toru Shimizu was born in Toyama prefecture. He was a self-taught hanga artist. His style is detailed and descriptive. Series of prints include, "Snow Country" ('Yukiguni') 1971, "Four Seasons in Japan" ('Nihon no Shiki') 1973-74, "Autumn in Paris" ('Pari no Aki') 1974.
