Fuyu no Tsumago - Kisô-ji ('Tsumago in the Winter - Kisô Road'). - The print depicts the snow covered town of Tsumago. - The 'Kiso-ji' specifically refers to the eight kilometer section of the Nakasen-dô that runs through the Kisô Valley in Nagano and Gifu Prefectures. It is a local name for the mountainous "heart" of the trail, featuring the eleven famous post towns like Magome and Tsumago. The Kisôkaidô (Kisô Highway, also called Nakasendô), is the entire 540 kilometer-long highway connecting Tokyo and Kyoto.
