The print depicts the Yanagimachi town market in Aomori prefecture in the snow. Many people bundled in heavy coat are strolling around the merchant booths propped up in a street corner. A horse carried sledge is waiting for a customer at the left. A boy skates behind a running dog. Several people surround a merchant showing his fish on the frozen ground. A tall building is seen in the distance under the red sky.

Jun'ichirô Sekino was one of the leading figures of the Sosaku Hanga movement. After World War II he won wide recognition in the USA. In 1963 he taught at the Ohio State University and in 1965 at the Kobe University in Japan. The style of Jun'ichirô Sekino shows a large variety - from realistic to semi-abstract.
